Metrolina, North Carolina Branch of the AWCA

Welcome to the Metrolina, North Carolina school of the Arizona Wing Chun Association. We are an official Continued Learning Extension School (CLES) of the AWCA, a recognized school of the International Ving Tsun Kung Fu Federation (IVTKFF).

The AWCA - Metrolina, NC works directly with Sifu Phil Bradley of the AWCA in order to locate training partners and share our love of this phenomenal martial art. Working directly with the AWCA Distance Learning Program, we are accepting potential training partners to grow in the art and learn from one another.

Our branch was founded on the basis that not everyone has the opportunities for working one-on-one with other practitioners. Maybe you don't have a school in your area, maybe the schools that "are" in your area are not to your liking, or maybe the fees are so expensive that you cannot afford it.

Well, forget all of that here, because we are all one family that works together for the betterment of us all. We stay in weekly contact with Sifu Phil via webcam training (and periodic personal training), so everything we learn is directly from the AWCA with nothing left out.

I´m originally from Germany and in 2005 we moved to Charlotte. I trained from the end ´90 to the beginning of the new Century Leung Ting WingTsun in Griesheim / Hesse and my teacher was Si-Hing Roland Schorr.

Why I choose Wing Chun?

If you have not the right size for Martial Arts like 154 pounds and 5.5 tall, but you like to train this, what do you do? My first experience was Judo and after in injury, I left Judo. Aikido, wonderful Martial Art, but nothing for me and than Kendo, I loved it, but I couldn't follow.

After all this discouragements I found a flyer for a new "sport" in my town WingTsun and I checked out this school and after 3 month I reached 3rd Student grade and after a year I was in the 5th Student grade

In this point I left the School, I moved in another City to the other end of Germany and from there here to Charlotte.

Why I choose AWCA?

I searched for good Wing Chun school in my area and I didn't find something and if you find something to expensive. After researching the internet I found AWCA with the DLP and the E-Book series. First I bought the Siu-Nim-Tau E-Book and than a little bit later I became a student of AWCA.

Why I choose Wing Chun?

Come see and train with us, you will see why I choose Wing Chun.

Rather than "go it alone" with a distance program, why not take it even further and give us a call? I guarantee that your training will explode when you work with fellow practitioners.

To your training success,

Si-Hing Matthias Bechert
